Apple, even more than most, likes to play its cards close to its chest when it comes to the new technology it’s developing. One way that fans, eagerly anticipating the next Apple revolution, can get a glimpse of the future is to take a look at Apple’s latest patents.
We at Beyond Chalk, being just a tad obsessive when it comes to technology, have a habit of doing just that. One that caught our collective eye recently and got us very excited was a patent regarding built-in projectors for the iPhone and iPad.
We just started imagining the possibilities.
Pages documents superimposed on school books,
No more fiddling with cables,
Student’s Keynote presentations out the front of any class,
No more syncing to multiple projectors from multiple computers,
Movies on the ceiling!
Some commentators such as Victor Godinez of Technology blog, are predicting that this new technology could feature as soon as this year’s next generation iPhone. The patent also provides for wireless interaction between the projector and other Apple devices, making it a decisive move to stamp out cable spaghetti once and for all!
Given that you could control presentations and project them directly from your iPhone to anywhere in the room, will the whiteboard simply evolve into an iPad projector? With a name like Beyond Chalk, you can understand how this got us especially pumped.
What else in the classroom do you think we could use this technology for?
Completely mobile teaching resources! What’s next?
