Some things feel the effects of time more than others. If you have ever poured sour, chunky milk onto your cereal you know what I mean. Add to this list things like pop music, acid wash jeans and shoulder pads in t-shirts and you get the picture. There are however some things that really do get better with time. This list is populated with things like good wine, vintage champagne, European sports cars, films starring Humphrey Bogart and teachers.

Teachers? Absolutely.

I am amazed (perhaps I shouldn’t be though) at the incredible amount of teachers, that would be best described as of ‘a vintage age’, that are taking to the use of technology in the classroom like ducks to water.

I am inspired to find that even after having taught in predominantly the same way for over 35 years many teachers that I am dealing with at the moment are excited and proactive in using practical classroom technologies!

I was reading of an 80 year old Australian body builder recently whose story prompted me to compare his achievements with the efforts and advancements of our more senior educators.
You will love reading his story – I did.

Ray Moon is the oldest competitive bodybuilder in the world – click here and here for the story and for some awesome shots of an 80 year old in speedos!

Heres the point though – Compared to an 80 year old pumping hard iron in the gym for 2 hours a day every day of the week, teaching your senior staffers podcasting and movie making looks like a walk in the park!

See you in a workshop.
